Sarah Burton Is the Designer of the Year

Sarah Burton Is the Designer of the Year
After creating a wedding dress for Kate Middleton, the wife of the British Prince William, Sarah Burton has received universal acclaim.
Burton, a former assistant to the brilliant designer of the Alexander McQueen fashion house, has shown the world that her talent is no smaller, and there is nothing surprising in the fact that the new chief designer for the Alexander McQueen brand has received the honorary title of the “Designer of the Year.”
The British Harper’s Bazaar magazine has awarded Sarah Burton with the honorary title of the “Designer of the Year” at the ceremony of Women of the Year Awards where the most outstanding women have gathered. The only man to receive the award at the Women of the Year Awards ceremony was the American designer Tom Ford – as the “Best Man in the World of Women”. And the honorary title of the “Fashion Icon of the Year” has gone to a big number of stars of fashion business, including Naomi Campbell, Helena Christensen, Eva Herzigova, Yasmin Le Bon, and Cindy Crawford.

Kanye West as an Fashion Designer

Kanye West as an Fashion Designer
When stars become designers and start sewing clothes, one should be ready for a trouble. And when they imagine themselves to be talented designers, who are worth having a full-fledged fashion show of their collection instead of simply selling their creations quietly in the clothing stores of fashion-retailers, there comes a real disaster.
The most striking examples are either Lindsay Lohan’s short period at the position of a designer for Emanuel Ungaro (the French brand still can not recover from this experience and has recently announced changing a designer once again) or a collection by Kanye West that has been recently presented at the Fashion Week in Paris.
Even the fashion-critics, who are quite conciliatory towards the undoubtedly talented musician, have agreed that Kanye West has surely failed the attempt to conquer the fashion world. The collection created by the rapper (with the support of authoritative representatives of the British fashion industry), is difficult to describe in one word. The presented items look so diverse, ill-conceived, and completely unsuitable for the idea of real clothes that they really seem to be a failure.
Leather and fur for the spring-summer season, huge cleavages of unknown purpose, chaotic cutouts, and shiny leggings in a combination with bright sporty tops make the collection completely unsuccessful.

Milky Clothes German Designer

Milky Clothes German Designer
On the sound of it Clothes from milk sounds almost impossible. A young designer from Germany Anne Domaske has introduced a new fabric called QMilch. The fabric is made by high concentrations of the milk protein casein. Domaske told Reuters "It feels like silk and it doesn't smell -- you can wash it just like anything else".

It is made from natural materials and it is purely ecological. It has many health benefits as the amino acids in the protein are anti bacterial and anti aging. It regulates both blood pressure and body temperature.

Domaske’s fashion label known as Mademoiselle Chi Chi and it has started using the milk fibers in weaving its collection. The designer also intends on designing an entire range from QMilch.

It requires 6 liters of milk to produce one dress which costs 150 Euros to 200 Euros. The designer is excited at this venture and has high hopes with the brand for its success.
