| Pleating Is the Trend of SS 2012 |
The
fashion designers have clearly been divided between the two groups in the new spring-summer 2012 season: some of them offer
clothing with colorful and original prints and belly-baring tops as the basis of the spring-summer wardrobe, while others suggest returning to the canons of “adult” image and wear elegant and
feminine clothes.
Pleating has become one of the manifestations of this tendency of returning to feminine images. Skirts and flirtatiously pleated
dresses have entered the spring-summer 2012 collections of the most authoritative representatives of the international fashion industry.
The main contribution to the
trendy wardrobe of spring-summer 2012 is the
pleated skirt: flirty short skirts in the style of the recent collections of Rebecca Taylor and Alice by Temperley, or conversely long skirts a la Mango or Prada Spring-Summer 2012. Wearing summer dresses with fluffy pleated skirts in the new season is offered by Blumarine and Roberto Cavalli. In the collections of Giorgio Armani, Giuseppe Zanotti and Bvlgari, pleated skirts with small or large folds adorn the corresponding accessories rather than the outfits.
