Paris Fashion Week 2012

Over the past few years, Paris Fashion Week has changed a lot. The previous shows resembled theatrical performances, and the presented models looked like art objects. Now, the collections are more utilitarian, and the shows themselves… are less dramatic.
That is why Karl Lagerfeld has decided that the Chanel haute couture should be sold instead of being proudly displayed in the showcases of museums. The entire first part of the collection was presented on the catwalk by mannequin models, dressed in the classic clothes of the Fashion House: knee-length sheath dresses, costumes with traditional tweed jackets, slacks and silk blouses… Everything was done in the spirit of Mademoiselle Coco, but it looked somehow casual and everything but new.

However, the show gradually changed for the better, and there appeared the first evening dresses, embroidered with sequins, beads, and decorated with cut-outs and printed colors.

Using the classic silhouettes of the brand (many people like Chanel for conservatism and loyalty to the principles of the founder of the brand), Kaiser Karl gives them a modern breath, using shiny fabrics, an abundance of sequins, pearls and large gems.

The color palette of the collection is rather dull and dominated by dark blue and deep purple hues that Lagerfeld mixed with silver-gray, milk and lavender tones. The images are completed by long earrings with colored gems, tiny hats with flowers, cameos and brooches, as well as high-heeled shoes with straps around the ankle. We are amazed! And you?

Giorgio Armani Pre-Fall 2012

Preparing a new pre-fall 2012 collection, the Italian designer Giorgio Armani did not invent anything new and used the still popular idea of transforming men’s style and including such items in women’s wardrobe.
Another attempt to reconsider men’s style, presented in the pre-2012 collection by Giorgio Armani, was absolutely successful. Androgynous ensembles seem to be both extremely stylish and totally realistic, and are designed not only for the catwalk, but for real everyday wardrobe as well.
At first sight, the color palette of the pre-fall collection is restrained. Practical dark shades of black and charcoal gray are interspersed with the “flashes” of bright, almost neon shades of orange, red and fuchsia (a kind of reference to the Armani haute couture collection, presented in July 2011).

Fashion Weeks in 2012

CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) and the British Fashion Council have announced the final dates of the World Fashion Weeks in 2012.
Last year, there was a conflict with the organizers of the Milan Fashion Week, who did not want to fit in with the general terms, and their Fashion Week slightly overlapped in time the previous Fashion Week in Paris. The models did not manage to work at the scheduled time.
In 2012, the schedule is as follows:
• September 6-13 – New York Fashion Week
• September 14-18 – London Fashion Week
• September 18-25 – Milan Fashion Week
• September 25 – October 2- Paris Fashion Week

Cindy Crawford’s Daughter Kaia Models for Young Versace

Another portfolio of the successful child model has appeared in the model business. The 10-year-old daughter of the supermodel Cindy Crawford, Kaia, has become the new face of the Young Versace collection. Cindy herself had been the muse of Gianni, therefore, it is not surprising that it was Kaia, who led the teen collection.
According to Donatella Versace, Kaia has a special gift just like her mother. The camera likes her very much. It was very interesting to see how Kaia follows in the footsteps of her talented mother.
Cindy is also proud of her daughter’s modeling success. She was very excited that Kaia had been selected to lead the first collection of Young Versace. Crawford has so many wonderful memories of the time when she worked with Gianni and Donatella. There is something very special in the Versace fashion house. Being at the shoot with her daughter and watching her in front of the camera is a fantastic experience for the mother, who is so proud of her child.
The photographers of the debut advertising campaign were Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot. The collection is designed for children from 0 to 12 years, and Donatella assures that fashion should correspond to the age of buyers. At the same time, some details will have a print of Versace logo.

Thandie Newton Wants Freckles

Thandie Newton wishes she had freckles.
The 39-year-old actress admits she was so keen for the pigmentation markings she even considered having them put on to her face temporarily.
She said: "I wish I had freckles - I once considered having temporary henna freckles.
"I do have the odd beauty spot and these are often airbrushed out in pictures, which annoys the hell out of me."
However she admits it took her time to accept herself because when she was younger there were so few black women on British television.
She added: "When I was growing up, the only woman on TV who looked like me was the newsreader Moira Stewart. Then Sir Michael Caine married his beautiful wife Shakira, and the model Iman because famous - they were the women I identified with.
